Sometimes when you are trying to lose weight there are so many options available to you that it can be a little overwhelming.  From weight loss smoothies, to groups like weight watchers, to doing it yourself, to diet delivery plans, it is difficult to know exactly what type of plan to choose to meet your weight loss goals.

In my opinion you should taylor your plan to your personality, and we will go over that shortly, but if you really want to lose weight one of the most important things you can do is to have a friend or mentor who has already done what you intend to do.   One of the best articles I’ve ever read on this is here at Oprah.com.  Basically it says that if you want to make a major change in your life it is not about willpower, but about finding the right examples, and I couldn’t agree more.

So to fit your weight loss plan to your personality, what do you need to do?  First of all, take a look at your current eating habits and decide what you think you can stick with.

If you don’t like to cook or feel overwhelmed by learning how to cook in a healthy way then you might want to try weight loss shakes or diet delivery programs.  These both eliminate a lot of cooking and diet delivery in particular can really help you learn what portion size works to lose and maintain weight.  One of the best parts of these types of programs is that they take the thinking out of losing weight.   Medifast diet is a good solution for this.

If you eat out a lot you would be better off going with a points based program like deal a meal or weight watchers.  These types of plans offer more flexibility and also work very well.  But if you need a lot of structure to succeed than this may not be the ideal way for you to lose weight.

If you prefer to do it yourself then there are two main steps I recommend.  First buy 8 inch plates.  They actually can cut your calorie consumption by 22%.  Second fill half of each plate at breakfast, lunch, and dinner with fruits or vegetables.  These two basic techniques will give you pretty amazing results.

To a slimmer you!

Adopting A Low Carb Diet
 by: Dana Goldberg 7eb

A Low Carb Low Calorie Diet was a very popular way to lose weight quickly.  I was on one about 10 years ago, and I lost 20 pounds.  They do work, but because they are very hard to maintain over the long haul, it is hard to keep weight off when you are following a low carb low calorie diet.

I think a more successful strategy is to follow a low glycemic impact diet, which allows a much greater variety of foods.  Nutrisystem and Bistro MD both have great diets that really keep you full and work with your body to help you lose weight.

Diets have appeared in many different forms, especially fad diets. Among the problems with these fad diets is that as well as often leaving you feeling very hungry they can also be unhealthy and only work for a short space of time. Research has indicated that the most effective diets are those that can be adhered to over long periods of time. In the case of fad diets, weight tends to be very erratic and while you may lose weight initially it is not unusual to put that weight back on and eventually increase your weight.

One of the huge benefits of a low carb diet is that you do not need to feel hungry. This may seem like it avoids the point of a diet, but it doesn’t. The aim of dieting is not to eat less but to lose weight or eat more healthily. The most famous of all low carb diets is the Atkins diet and this remains popular because it allows you to eat good-sized meals and is proven to help you lose weight.

The basics of a low carb diet are that you can eat as much food as you like until you are full, as long as you only eat the allowed foods. Generally speaking, this includes meat, cheese, fish, eggs and poultry. You are also allowed a certain amount of green vegetables each day. As well as being a healthy way to lose weight, a low carb diet will give you a sustained weight loss meaning you can continue to lose weight even after the initial push and you will keep the weight off once it is gone.

It will also lower your cholesterol and blood pressure as well as stabilize your blood sugar level. You should supplement a low carb diet with multi vitamins because your body will become partially starved of these essential vitamins.

Who else is interested in getting rid of  ridiculous fad diets?  I mean how many grapefruits, celery sticks, and cutting out all carb meals can we eat??  That is why getting a diet meals delivery service works…because you can eat real food without the hassles of traditional diets.

Here are 3 steps that will help you choose the right meal plan with your diet meals delivery service.

Almost all diet delivery services have different “meal plans” you can choose from.  How many meals you replace through diet delivery is entirely up to you.   The following are some examples of typical meal plans and how to choose which one is right for you.

7 day a week everything is included plans.

-This option will replace everything.  Every meal, snack, and dessert will be shipped to you.

Choose the 7 day everything option if:
-You often find yourself eating because you are bored or stressed out… these plans allow you to get rid of all the stuff that is tempting in your house.
-You don’t want to cook at all
-You want the stress of deciding what to eat and if it is going to fit in your diet plan completely taken away.

5 day a week plans:
-This option offers more flexibility, but greater room to fall off track

Choose the 5 day a week plan if:
-You need more flexibility in your eating because you go out to eat.
-You have good self control when you are eating out and fixing your own foods.
-You like to cook, but don’t want to have to do it all the time.

Lunch & Dinner plans:

-This option provides lunch and dinner, but not breakfast.

Choose the Lunch & Dinner plan if:
-You want the best value.
-You don’t mind buying breakfast foods at the grocery store.
-You are committed to eating a healthy, balanced breakfast.

Whichever meal plan you choose, you are sure to find one that fits your needs perfectly.  For a side by side comparison of my favorite three diet delivery services click here.
